It has been an awesome summer of wicked weddings and meeting great people. Summer’s not quite over yet but the Winnipeg chill has begun. I’m gonna miss the longer days the most! I have to give a huge shout out to Kristel and Rebecca, you have been a big help this year and are doing an outrageous job. Kristel was my second shooter for the first part of summer and Rebecca is with me for the rest of the year. Thanks also to Trevor Brucki and Krista for being extra cool and Odog from Edmonton, you rock! Someone asked me why I help others in the photography business… I just think it is the most important thing I can do and I would recommend the same to anyone else. It is so great to have other cool, like-minded people around you encouraging you to grow and flourish with your business. When it comes to photography, everyone has something unique to share. If anyone wants to hang and talk nerd or come out for a shoot just let me know. I expect to always be growing in this business and I imagine I will never consider myself a “professional”. I learned recently that the origin of the word amatuer comes from love, meaning someone who loves their work. What a cool concept! In this business you can learn something useful from anyone…all of us have something unique that makes us different giving us no reason to fear competition. Wedding photography will always be new and exciting because the technology will never stop and each couple and wedding is different. Keep watching for lots of new things to come.
