I don’t think it’s bad that I am posting my goals/resolutions on January 12th… it’s too hard to start on the 1st right??? I mean you still have tons of deserts and need time to relax from the holiday craziness. The cool thing about blogging this is perhaps it will hold me more accountable???? We will see…
1) Get in shape! – I know… we all say that… and I say it frequently throughout the year:) I’m not really interested in “weight loss”, although I won’t complain it that happens along the way. I want to have a regular exercise routine, get more active and have more energy (without the Starbucks and red bull). So specifically… workout 3 times a week for at least an hour, walk Buckley daily, drink more water per day, eat healthy more consistently… let’s start with that for now:)
2) Get Nice(r)… I know that’s a vague one but I understand what I would like to work on. Worry less about what is less important and more about what is… have more patience… and be there for others that need help or support.
3) A minute of margin every day… I want more margin in my life… more time on a daily basis to enjoy what life is all about… my wife, my child, my dog, my family, my friends, and yes, my work… less rushing from task to task letting it pile up and keeping me tied down. I am reading an awesome book now (it only takes a minute a day) called “A Minute of Margin”. I want to slow down, simplify and change my perspective on what really is, and what isn’t, urgent in my life. Stick with the book and make changes to my life when necessary.
4) Love my job, love my family, love my friends, love myself… have a nice balance… work is usually what takes over for me . What I do now for work is a dream come true and I never want that feeling to change. If I ever feel I have too much on my plate in a certain area, I will organize or outsource to ensure I always love what I do, and have time for family, friends and myself. Set time aside each month to reflect on my business and make any changes necessary.
I think that is a good start… anything I should add??? I have a longer, more specific and personal list written, and I will try my hardest to stick with the plan going forward.
Last week we had dinner with great friends and had Bethany’s birthday party… good times! First, we went to Rebecca and Jody’s for good fun some delicious food! Jody is an amazing cook! Bethany came along and always has fun in a new environment. Since they have dogs we even brought Buckley. Thanks for an awesome night!
Then it was Bethany’s birthday with our friends and their kids. It was a little kid crazy so I just came up from the basement once and a while for photos. Bethany is growing so fast and I loved watching her have such a good time… she is so cute!!! The party really started when the bubbles came out!
We also had a great night with the Rocktographer family… breakfast for dinner!! Yum!!! Jake will post some video fun in the next week or so… until then, enjoy!

Does anyone remember the famous image from “The Shining”?

Yum Jody!

Bethany took her soother so she found something else…

I think Amanda is ready for more…

Is she flirting?????

I LOVE the bubbles photo!!! And the one of Bethany sitting on Jody’s lap (oh it pulls on my heartstrings!!)!! And the self-portrait of Bethany and I, her expression of “what’s going on” makes me laugh!!! And “The Shining” photo is so priceless, and I see I need to clean the dog nose smudges off the window panels!
It was such a great night and I’m so in love with little Bethany!! I love all the polka-dots, too, Amanda, it looks like you did such a wonderful job on Bethany’s birthday party!
