FAQ

How do we book you?: We can meet in person at my studio, chat on the phone, Skype or email. Then you’ll sign up with a $1000 non-refundable retainer to hold your date. Everything including signing the contract is done online in your own safe and secure wedding account. Checks, plastics and papers are fine.
What is your base (lowest) price to photograph my wedding?: Full day wedding coverage starts at $3000 and pricing will range depending on your desired additions like coverage, albums, negatives and other studio products.
What does your "full day coverage" mean? How many hours of photography will that give me?: My base "full day coverage" begins 45 minutes before you put your dress on up until 30 minutes into your reception. This coverage can range from 3 hours up to a maximum of 8 hours.
What is your payment schedule like? Do you have payment plans?: A $1000 non-refundable retainer is due at booking, 50% of the remainder is due 30 days before the wedding and the final payment is due on your wedding day. Taxes are separated into the final two payments. Additional custom payment plans are available upon request.
Can you hold our date for us?: I can not guarantee your wedding date until the booking retainer has been payed and the contract is signed. If you are the first to contact me for a date, you will have 48 hours preference to book if another couple expresses interest to book that same date.
If our wedding is cancelled, can we have our retainer back?: Unfortunately no. The retainer and all monies paid are non-refundable. Once you have paid your retainer and signed your contract, I will turn down all other bookings for that date.
Can we keep the high-resolution negatives?: A USB drive or digital download of your finished high-resolution digital files can be purchased at anytime. You will be able to print these photos at any size and I will provide a list of quality print locations for your reference. I will retain rights over the images for studio and commercial use. This only includes the photographers finished photos and not the original RAW images.
If we decide to hire you, how far in advance should I book you?: Wedding Photographers are usually among the first bookings to happen for your wedding and might even determine the date of your event. Booking between 10 to 18 months is preferable.
Is this your full time occupation?: Yes… Weddings are my life and my passion. I commission 30 weddings per year and work with my couples year round locally and around the world.
What type of photography do you do?: I am a professional Wedding Photographer… meaning I specialize in weddings and wedding photography year round. I have a journalistic style but do not limit myself to specific genres of photography. It is my responsibility to make you feel comfortable and confident during our time together, and I take that responsibility very seriously. The last thing you should be worried about on your wedding day is the photography – that’s the fun part, and I’ll make it so! Whether you are boisterous or quiet, or somewhere in between, my images will reflect the best parts of your true personality. I’ll anticipate beautiful moments, pay attention to the details, and leave you with photographs you’ll be proud of for decades.
How many weddings have you photographed?: More than 300 weddings all over this earth since 2007.
How do you describe your style?: I but do not limit myself to a specific genre. You can throw a million buzz words in the mix to describe my photography but I am a story teller first and foremost. It can range from photo journalistic, fashion and editorial. I have a relaxed and comfortable approach to photographing my clients. It is my specialty to bring out and capture my couples true personality. Modern, dramatic, emotional and timeless… I love what I do.
Will our images be stored safely for backup? For how long?: Very much so. Your images will be safely stored in six different and separate on and off-site storage locations. Your images are safe from crashes, fire, robbery and anything else that could possibly happen. Because of the fast growth in storage size, your images will be stored safely forever.
Can I order professional prints from you?: Yes. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere on earth. Your online proofing gallery can do that.
Do you touch up the photos?: Not much, but I do make minor colour corrections and clear up any unwelcome blemishes. Your photos will look vibrant and timeless.
Colour or black & white?: Both. A few of your photos will only be offered in black & white.
How are you different than other photographers?: I make it natural for you to enjoy your most important relationships. I promise not to turn your wedding day into a photo shoot. I believe that the unique relationship you have towards your spouse, family and friends is the best thing I could possibly show you, that is what I photograph.
How many photos will we get?: I will remove all the redundancies and blinks, make sure the colour and brightness are perfect, remove unsightly blemishes, and provide a link so they can be downloaded from home.
Can we make suggestions on how we want our photos?: Absolutely. Through your engagement session and our wedding planning together, we will get to know each other well and I will have a very good understanding of what is most important to you. You will also complete a questionnaire before the wedding to include requested photos and lists of family members to be photographed together.
Will you treat our wedding like the most important you have ever photographed?: Of course!
Can we provide a shot list of photos we want you to take at the wedding?: Yes. You will provide that information to me before the wedding.
Does an assistant photographer work with you?: Yes. I have a great team of assistant/second shooters working with me. My base coverage only includes myself and every other package includes a second photographer.
Will you personally be the photographer at my wedding?: Yes. I will be there dressed for the occasion come rain or shine. I will not forget to bring my camera.
What if you are very sick, injured or die before my wedding date?: Ouch… what a dismal thought. I probably will not make the wedding if I am dead. An experienced professional photographer will replace me and photograph your wedding if any severe terrible accident or sickness occurs and I am unable to attend.
Do you have backup equipment?: Yes. Wedding photography is different than any other field of photography. There are no second chances or room for error. I have trusty backup equipment for my backup equipment ready at all times.
Can our friends and family take photos at the wedding? Will that distract you?: Of course. Let them take photos… mine will be much better. I am ready and experienced in dealing with any distractions that could occur during an important moment or time of your day. Although… feel free to tell Uncle Bob to put his camera down and enjoy the wedding.
What will we do if bad weather happens on the wedding day?: We will be prepared with a suitable indoor backup location due to terrible weather far before the wedding day.
How long will we wait to see our photos?: Not long. Sneak peeks will be available right after the wedding; you will get to view them all online within three weeks after the wedding.
How do we view our photos after the wedding?: You will enjoy some choice photos with a musical slideshow on my blog. I will also upload them to Facebook. All your finished photos can be viewed by you, your family and your guests in your own online proof gallery.
How are your albums made?: Constructing a single album involves more than sixty steps, with twenty or more specialists performing colour correction, design, quality control, printing, and binding – all by hand, using advanced digital processes and printing technologies. Every book comes with a lifetime guarantee, along with a personal promise that it will be among your most prized family heirlooms.
How are we involved?: Your album layout design will be sent to you using a intuitive online design program. You will make request changes online and I will complete them to your liking. You will approve your final design for printing.
How long will we wait to see our album(s)?: You will receive your album design two weeks after your wedding and you will receive your album 8 to 10 weeks after it is ordered.
Why should we get an album from you?: These are not your mothers wedding albums:) They are unique pieces of hand crafted art, built to last generations in your family. Each album features fully retouched images from your collection, designed into a narrative that will tell your personal story forever.
Why should we have an engagement session?: Because you will love it. It is great practice for you two in front of the camera, we will get to know what to expect from each other, after you see the photos you will be even more pumped for your wedding, and you can use your engagement photos for save the date cards, invitations or a custom guest signing book.
When will we schedule an engagement session?: Any Tuesday or Wednesday weekday evening after you book with me up until the day before your wedding.
What is the best time to photograph it?: During magic hour… that means sunset. In the early evening two to three hours before the sun will set. However, there will be different arrangements depending on the style of the session… including early morning, rain or a late evening when it is dark.
How do we choose a location and what should we wear?: You will fill out a questionnaire that will help me help you determine the perfect location or locations that suits the two of you. I will also offer you tips when it comes to what you should wear.
Will you travel for our session?: Yes… I would love to.
Do you offer guestbooks that include photos from our session?: Yes. A very nice hand build leather bound album that includes choice photos from your session with plenty of room for your guests to sign.

Will you travel for our wedding?: Yes. Anywhere on this green earth.
What is your pricing for travel and destination weddings?: My pricing will vary on the location and your specific coverage needs. My destination pricing is similar to my regular wedding pricing plus travel & accommodations. Your investment could range from $3000 and up.
Do you travel with an assistant?: If an assistant is needed, I will provide one for an additional travel and accommodation fee. For many instances, I will be capable to handle the coverage on my own.
How many destination weddings have you photographed and where?: I have photographed more than ten weddings in destinations around the world including Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. My current destination goals include London, Paris, Ireland, Prince Edward Island, Montreal, New York and Italy.
Do you bring backup equipment?: Yes. Backup equipment for my backup equipment.
Are you insured? Is your business insured?: Yes. I am insured for my equipment, business and liability worldwide.
What is the photo booth and how much does it cost?: It is a second party for your reception. It is a portable booth where you, your friends, your family and all your guests can have fun and take some unforgettable photos of themselves on your wedding day. Your guests will absolutely love it and you will have great keepsakes of everyone from your wedding. It is an additional $500 and is included in some of my packages.
When is it setup and where?: I will find a place close to the bar or dance floor and it will be setup for use right after the first dance during your reception.
How many photos will we get?: Between 60 and 200.
Who runs the photo booth?: Myself for most of the evening and my assistant will take over when I am needed elsewhere.
How will our guests view the photos after the wedding?: They will have access to the images in your online gallery.
Can guests order professional prints without involving us?: Yes. Your online gallery is awesome that way.
Do you provide any props for the photo booth?: No. I will get creative with objects found at your reception location but props are either not needed or provided by you.
