This winter getaway in Manitoba with Julie Fulsher (Julie Fulsher Photography) was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and cozy cabin vibes. We packed up and headed to Tallpine Lodges near West Hawk Lake, an adults-only, pet-free escape into the Manitoba wilderness. And yes, we missed Bethany, Bella, Lucas, Alex, Riley, and Scout, but we made it through, LOL!

From Winnipeg, it’s about a 1.5-hour drive to West Hawk Lake, where TJ and Sacha have built a perfect little retreat by the lake. The second we arrived, before we even got to our cabin, a gang of wild deer came to check us out. It was unreal! We couldn’t get enough of them the entire trip.

The cabin was super cozy and warm, and our evenings were spent by the fire, binge-watching Game of Thrones (Julie had never seen it before!). During the day, we explored the snow-covered trails, went hiking, and even took a snowmobile adventure through the deep woods. It was winter perfection.

Oh, and the “almost dying” part? Well… we took a wrong turn while hiking and ended up in the middle of an uncharted forest, knee-deep in snow, struggling to make our way out. Let’s just say we got a solid leg workout that day, LOL!

If you’re looking for a peaceful yet adventurous winter escape, I highly recommend Tallpine Lodges. The combination of stunning scenery, incredible wildlife, and pure winter magic made this trip unforgettable.
