What a beautiful adventure this was! Before flying out for their destination wedding in Mexico, I had never met Lauren & Will in person—only through Skype, texts, and emails. But after following each other on social media and chatting about their big day, I knew we’d hit it off.
Lauren & Will are college sweethearts, together for 15 years, and they run their own wedding photography studio out west—the incredible Will Pursell Photography. So yeah, I might have been a little nervous to photograph another photographer’s wedding! But that all faded when we met at the resort a couple of days before the big day. Their group was so welcoming, fun, and adventurous—I even learned what Parkour-ing was (since the groomsmen were constantly flipping and jumping over everything). Oh, and I surfed for the first time! Once was enough, LOL.
A Perfect Destination Wedding in Mexico
The wedding day was relaxed and full of energy, starting with the girls getting ready while the guys hit the beach for more surfing. Let’s just say things got a little wet for me and my gear—thank goodness for backup cameras and insurance!
Lauren & Will had their first look in a lush forest (with a dragon, no big deal), followed by beach portraits before the intimate ceremony, performed by a close family member. Tears, laughter, and the perfect sunset set the stage for an incredible celebration. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, whales appeared in the distance as everyone walked along the beach. Unreal.
