And now for part two of Sarnjeet & Bunty’s massive Indian wedding at the RBC Convention Center! This one was even bigger than the last, so grab a seat and enjoy the ride. 😉
If a “normal wedding” is a 100-meter sprint, then an Indian wedding is a full-blown decathlon. From getting ready at 5 AM to the end of the reception the next morning, it’s a marathon of culture, love, and epic celebrations.

The Wedding Day
The day began with both sides getting ready. For the bride, this meant intricate jewelry, vibrant lehengas, and layers of stunning details. For the groom, it was all about the Indian turban, a ceremonial sword, and his traditional attire. Each piece is symbolic, and watching the transformation is always one of my favourite moments to capture as a Winnipeg Wedding Photographer.
Then, the Baraat. Imagine an entire procession of drummers, dancing, and—yes—bagpipers! The groom’s side dances through the streets, celebrating before reaching the Gurdwara for the wedding ceremony. Once inside, shoes come off, head coverings go on, and men and women sit separately as an intimate, soulful Sikh wedding ceremony takes place.
Emotional Goodbyes & New Beginnings
After the ceremony, it’s time for creative portraits before heading to the bride’s home for the Dholi. This moment is always a powerful, emotional farewell as the bride leaves her family home to start her new journey. Tears, hugs, and heartfelt goodbyes make this one of the most beautiful and raw traditions to document.
Then comes the arrival at the groom’s house, where the bride is welcomed with fun games and traditions that mark the start of her new life in her husband’s family. It’s a blend of emotions—joy, excitement, and tradition—all in one.
The Grand Reception at the RBC Convention Center
The next day, we kicked off with some stunning creative portraits before heading to the RBC Wedding reception, where 1200 guests were seated comfortably in Winnipeg’s biggest venue.
The Wedding Music Winnipeg scene was on fire, and the dance floor? Absolutely electric! Hours of dancing, lights flashing, and energy at an all-time high—by the end, we’d spent three hours on the dance floor. It wasn’t just a party; it was an all-out wedding rave, and I loved every second of it.
A Massive Thank You
Sarnjeet & Bunty, your wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, and I can’t thank you enough for letting me document it. A huge shoutout to Emma and her incredible team at Emma Singh Creative for pulling off such a flawless event.
